Choosing an AI Ebook Generator: 9 Questions to Ask First

There are now dozens of AI ebook generators, and their homepages all sound the same. Instead of comparing claims, compare answers to these nine questions. We’ve included how 1MinEbook answers each one, so you can hold us to the same standard.

1. Does it plan the whole book, or just generate text?

A real book needs a structure where each chapter builds on the last. Look for tools that create an outline first and write every chapter against it.

1MinEbook: creates a chapter-by-chapter outline from 8 proven formats, then writes each chapter to that plan.

2. Will chapter 10 sound like chapter 1?

Long books drift in tone and repeat themselves when each chapter is generated in isolation. Ask whether the tool keeps a consistent voice and context across chapters.

1MinEbook: you choose one tone for the whole book, and each chapter is written knowing what came before and what comes next.

3. Can you edit and regenerate easily?

You’ll want to rewrite some parts. Check that you can edit text directly and regenerate a single chapter without redoing the whole book.

1MinEbook: built-in editor plus one-click regeneration for any chapter or cover.

4. Is a cover included?

Some tools only produce text, leaving you to hire a designer. Check whether covers are included and whether you can try different designs.

1MinEbook: every book gets a designed cover; generate a new direction anytime.

5. Which formats can you export?

You’ll need PDF for direct sales and EPUB or DOCX for stores like Amazon KDP and Apple Books. Make sure exports are properly formatted, not just raw text.

1MinEbook: PDF, EPUB and DOCX from the same book.

6. Who owns the book?

Read the terms. You should keep full commercial rights with no royalties owed to the tool.

1MinEbook: you own what you create and can sell it anywhere. We take no royalties.

7. What does one finished book actually cost?

“Unlimited” plans often have hidden limits, and per-word pricing is hard to predict. Work out the real cost of one complete book, including cover and export.

1MinEbook: a typical 5-chapter ebook with cover and PDF uses about 105 credits, roughly $10 on Pro and about $5 on the largest plan.

8. Can you try it before paying?

Judge quality on your own topic, not on a polished demo. A free trial or free credits let you do that with no risk.

1MinEbook: 50 free credits, enough for an outline, a cover and your first chapter. No credit card.

9. Can you cancel easily?

Monthly plans with self-serve cancellation keep you in control. Avoid annual lock-ins until you’re sure.

1MinEbook: billed monthly, cancel anytime from your account settings.
